What is Youthpass?

What is Youthpass?

Youthpass serves as a recognition tool for projects undertaken within European youth programs.

This certificate acknowledges participation in such projects as valuable educational experiences involving non-formal and informal learning.

It guides participants through a structured process implemented across the project lifecycle, facilitating their learning. Moreover, it acts as a strategic tool to enhance the recognition of non-formal learning throughout Europe.

What is Youthpass?

Youthpass stands as a European recognition instrument designed to identify and document learning outcomes achieved in projects funded by the Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps programs. Its primary objectives include:

  • Fostering individual reflection and awareness of learning outcomes.
  • Making learning achievements visible to participants and others.
  • Reinforcing reflective practices within youth work and solidarity activities to enhance their quality and recognition.
  • Supporting the continuous development of young people and youth workers.
  • Increasing the visibility of the value of European engagement.

Who Can Benefit from Youthpass?

Youthpass certificates are available for various projects and activities within the Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps programs.

This includes projects funded under previous European youth programs such as Youth in Action (2007-2013), Erasmus+: Youth in Action (2014-2020), and European Solidarity Corps (2018-2020).

All participants in projects approved under these frameworks are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate, acknowledging their non-formal and informal learning outcomes. Additionally, team members seeking to document their contributions to projects can also obtain certificates.

The responsibility for issuing Youthpass certificates to participants lies with the organization that has signed the grant contract.

Youthpass incorporates the 8 Key Competences, which align with those in the Lifelong Learning Field:

Communication in the mother tongue

Communication in foreign languages

Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology

Digital competence

Learning to learn

Social and civic competences

Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship

Cultural awareness and expression

Who Can Utilize Youthpass?

Youthpass certificates are applicable to the following activities within the Erasmus+: Youth in Action programme:

  • Youth Exchanges
  • Training Courses
  • European Solidarity Corps
  • Mobility of Youth Workers
  • Structured Dialogue meetings
  • Transnational Cooperation Activities (TCA) of the National Agencies
