This unique volunteer program offers participants the chance to engage with education, sustainable development, and social inclusion through hands-on activities at various Assalam Community Foundation institutions.
Volunteers will contribute to programs that empower youth, encourage intercultural exchange, and promote environmental awareness.
📚 Volunteer Responsibilities
🏫 Assalam International School:
✔ Support library, laboratory, and art/science classes
✔ Assist as co-teachers, educators, or facilitators
✔ Help children maintain their permaculture gardens
✔ Accompany students on educational excursions
✔ Assist with rehearsals for showcase performances presented to the president
✔ Organize trips and workshops
✔ Teach basic English to students
🎭 Youth Center (Africamp):
✔ Contribute to diverse camp programs such as Orphan Camp, School Camp, Capacity Development Camp, Art Camp, and Storytelling Camp
🏠 Accommodation, Meals & Travel
✔ Shared Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in gender-segregated shared rooms (four people per room). WiFi access is available.
✔ Meals Included: Assalam Community Foundation provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Vegetarian options are available, and tea, coffee, and water will be accessible throughout the day.
✔ No Additional Food Allowance: Since meals are provided, extra funds for food expenses will not be allocated.
✔ Travel Costs Covered: Transportation expenses are fully funded by the program.
✔ Monthly Stipend: Volunteers will receive 500 EUR per month as pocket money.
🎓 Training & Skill Development
✔ Teaching & Facilitation: Strategies for engaging children and youth in science, arts, and sports
✔ Permaculture & Sustainable Agriculture: Practical training in organic farming and environmental sustainability
✔ Event & Workshop Management: Planning educational activities and storytelling camps
🎯 Ideal Volunteer Profile
✔ Age Range: 18–35
✔Open-minded, adaptable, and culturally aware
✔Background or strong interest in education, community work, agriculture, or youth empowerment
✔Previous experience in teaching, facilitation, or youth work is beneficial but not required
✔Willing to collaborate in a team and maintain respectful communication
