Enhancing the Impact of Non-Formal Education (NFE) in Empowering Youth as Active Contributors to Society

The “Power of Non-Formal Education” is an invigorating training course designed to empower participants through hands-on learning experiences.

Together, we explore various aspects and quality standards of non-formal education, fostering pro-active engagement and reflection.

We are seeking youth workers, leaders, and individuals in the youth sector who directly engage with young people. Whether you’re experienced with Erasmus+ Youth or new to the program, this course is designed for you.

Objectives:

Encourage participants to experience and reflect on the effectiveness of NFE through diverse methods.

Analyze the role and perception of NFE across different countries in Europe.

Explore how NFE methods can promote cultural diversity and intercultural learning.

Combat passive approaches to youth engagement in NFE and foster genuine participation.

Examine the significance and synergy between various educational approaches (formal, non-formal, informal).

Reevaluate daily practices in youth work.

Understand the principles of NFE within Erasmus+ and its impact on program development.

A Core Flow Throughout the Training

Experiencing: Engage in various educational settings, such as role play, simulation games, and exercises, to immerse in different learning environments.

Reflecting: Take time to contemplate the methods used and their impacts, as well as to consider the strengths and limitations of non-formal education. Reflect on the process of pedagogy and how it can be enhanced.

Transferring: Apply insights gained during the training to participants’ own contexts, aiming to improve their approaches to working with young people.

Sharing: Exchange different perspectives, current challenges, and personal experiences with fellow participants, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Developing: Empower participants by involving them in the decision-making process of training design based on their interests and needs. Implement “Power to the People” moments throughout the program to ensure active participation and engagement.
