Next Re-Generation Vol. VI is a 45-day European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering project hosted by COB’s Permaculture Education Centre and Intentional Eco-Community in rural Greece. The initiative is seeking two enthusiastic volunteers aged 18–30 to become part of its international community from 15 September to 30 October 2026.
Designed for young people interested in sustainable living, ecological practices, and personal development, the project offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience while contributing to an inspiring community-based environment.
Volunteer Activities
Throughout the project, participants will actively engage in a wide range of hands-on activities focused on environmental sustainability and community life. They will contribute to regenerative agriculture, food forest maintenance, natural building techniques, off-grid living, shared meal preparation, and everyday community responsibilities.
In addition, volunteers will support educational workshops, assist with the Forest School, contribute to activities at the Rizes Community Café, and help organize a Farm-to-Fork stakeholder forum dedicated to sustainable food systems. They will also take part in the preparation and implementation of an international Erasmus+ Youth Exchange, gaining valuable experience in youth work and intercultural cooperation.
This learning-by-doing approach enables participants to strengthen practical, organisational, communication, and teamwork skills while experiencing sustainable community living firsthand.
Accommodation, Meals and Travel Support
Volunteers will stay in shared rooms accommodating two to four people at COB’s off-grid Permaculture Education Centre in rural Greece.
The community prepares and shares three nutritious plant-based meals each day, using seasonal, locally sourced, and home-grown ingredients whenever possible. Facilities include compost toilets, hot showers, shared kitchens, and communal living spaces designed to encourage collaboration and sustainability.
Transportation required for project activities will be provided locally. International travel expenses will be reimbursed according to European Solidarity Corps regulations after submission of the necessary travel documents. Participants will also receive daily pocket money in accordance with ESC funding rules.
Learning Experience and Training
The project combines practical experience with mentoring and non-formal education methods. Volunteers will learn sustainable agriculture, food forest management, ecological construction, and off-grid living while actively participating in community life.
During the mobility, they will receive continuous guidance from experienced mentors and engage in educational sessions that promote environmental awareness, community engagement, and personal growth.
At the end of the project, every participant will complete a Youthpass Certificate, recognising the competences and learning outcomes developed throughout the volunteering experience.
Participant Profile
The project welcomes motivated young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who have a genuine interest in sustainability, regenerative lifestyles, and community-based living.
Previous volunteering or environmental experience is appreciated but not required. The organisers value curiosity, responsibility, and a willingness to learn above all else.
Participants are expected to be open-minded, respectful, proactive, and comfortable living in a shared off-grid environment. They should be willing to contribute to everyday community tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining shared spaces while collaborating effectively with others.
Adaptability, emotional maturity, strong communication, and full commitment to the entire 45-day programme are considered essential qualities for successful participation.
