Description
This ESC project offers a rare opportunity to live, learn, and co-create within a youth community built on sustainability, responsibility, and experiential learning.
We are a collective of young people shaping spaces for self-directed education through Uniartcity. At present, we are studying independently inside a former hunting museum located in Bavaria’s Nature Community.
During the European Student Conference (ESC) in October 2025, international volunteers joined us to construct individual rooms in the museum’s main hall before the semester began.
Now, halfway through the semester, our goal is to continue developing the building and gradually transform it into a vibrant cultural, residential, and educational hub for young people. Guided by Uniartcity mentors, you will live and collaborate with 15 other volunteers while sharing the space with 15 German students currently studying here.
Accommodation, Food & Travel
All activities take place under the Uniartcity initiative, based in the old hunting museum at the Nature Community. Volunteers will stay in shared bedrooms with simple facilities and enjoy organic, plant-based meals prepared together. Travel expenses are reimbursed according to ESC guidelines upon submission of tickets.
Training & Activities
Volunteers will receive practical training in ecological construction (woodwork, insulation, clay, wall heating) and vegan cooking. In addition, community practices such as sharing circles, deep listening, and group reflection will enhance resilience, communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
Your responsibilities may include:
Demolishing and rebuilding walls
Designing and furnishing creative living spaces
Installing wall heating systems
Working with clay and wood
Cooking and participating in community life
Throughout the process, Uniartcity mentors will guide your personal and collective learning journey.
Participant Profile
We are seeking motivated young people aged 20–30 who are open to community living and eager to learn. No prior experience is required—curiosity and willingness matter most. You should be ready to:
Take responsibility and explore new skills
Reflect on yourself within a group setting
Share a room with up to 8 people for six weeks
Engage in diverse tasks ranging from renovation to cooking and group activities
This program provides a unique chance to experience sustainable living, teamwork, and personal growth while contributing to a dynamic youth movement. We look forward to your application!
