Leveraging current studies and materials, the Youth Partnership is set to host a symposium focusing on youth, democratic engagement, and climate initiatives from September 24 to 26, 2024, in Strasbourg, France.
This symposium will gather approximately 100-120 individuals involved in Europe’s youth sector, including young participants themselves.
These attendees will engage in dialogues about the active role of youth in the climate emergency, pinpointing key emerging priorities and obstacles, and examining the responses from youth research, policy-making, and youth-oriented programs.
The symposium’s objectives include:
Investigating and framing the impact of the climate emergency on Europe’s youth and the broader youth sector;
Assessing and contemplating adjustments in youth policy and programming to align with evolving circumstances;
Exchanging exemplary practices in youth policy and programming that effectively promote sustainability;
Fostering connections among stakeholders focused on these issues, both within the youth sector and beyond, to sustain, evolve, or introduce innovative approaches;
Highlighting the Youth Partnership’s existing research and resources on this subject, as well as contributions from partner entities and other key players in the youth sector;
Offering insights to enhance the development of policies and practices in youth-oriented work.
Covered Expenses and Benefits
The EU-Council of Europe Youth Partnership will take care of the following:
Lodging and dining at the European Youth Centre located in Strasbourg, France will be provided.
Expenses for visas and travel will be reimbursed as per the current regulations in effect.
