The volunteer engaged in this mission will have the opportunity to carry out tasks based on active educational methods of popular education, participate in the creation of educational materials, and assist in the development of European projects. The mission will take place at an entertainment center in Paris, specifically in the 10th district, known as CRL10 (http://crl10.net/). Mission Objectives:
- Promote European mobility and volunteerism.
- Contribute to welcoming young people aged 14-25 and support the promotion of their initiatives.
- Assist in establishing a “youth café” (a place for socializing with friends and enjoying beverages).
- Engage in the activities of the association within an intercultural context. The volunteer will collaborate with a professional animator in executing projects, offering their ideas, knowledge, skills, and interpersonal abilities. Typically, the volunteer will work in a co-facilitation setting, but they may also have opportunities for observation or independent work.
ACCOMMODATION, MEALS, AND TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will be accommodated in a house with a garden and may share the space with 4 to 5 other volunteers. The monthly allowance of €500 covers all living expenses, including food and essential needs, provides pocket money, and includes an unlimited transportation card for Île-de-France, which encompasses Paris. TRAINING DURING THE ASSIGNMENT The volunteer will have access to the OLS platform to enhance their proficiency in French. In cases where the volunteer faces challenges in speaking basic French, APJC and CRL10 can arrange for French language classes. The volunteer will gain exposure to and experience the responsibilities of an animator.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
- Interest in European policies and volunteering.
- Abilities in analysis, synthesis, and writing.
- Interest in local projects and public service.
- Desired qualities: precision, independence, organizational skills, animation expertise, excellent interpersonal capabilities, and a propensity for making suggestions.
- While the ability to speak French is not mandatory, it will facilitate more effective interaction with the public.
