The lesser-known Croatian region of Lika is a treasure trove of biodiversity and geodiversity, offering unique educational opportunities for both volunteers and the local community.
This project aims to highlight the challenges of modern lifestyles, their impact on ecosystems, and the causes and consequences of climate change. At the same time, it emphasizes the importance of individual and collective responsibility through activities such as children’s summer and language schools, recycling initiatives, resource-saving practices, and sustainable development.
The ultimate goal is to empower young people and the wider community to actively recognize and address environmental issues, while encouraging participants to share their experiences and outcomes back home. Think globally, act locally!
🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport
Accommodation: Local houses located 1.5 km from the Park and 2 km from Perušić town center (shared rooms, kitchen, and bathroom).
Food: A food budget is provided; participants plan and cook meals together.
Transport: Travel budget covers round-trip to Croatia and bus/train tickets to Perušić or Gospić. Pick-up service is arranged from these towns.
📚 Training & Activities
Participants will gain knowledge and practical skills in:
Working with children and youth (summer and language schools)
Introductory Croatian language lessons
Environmental protection and sustainable development
Intercultural dialogue and non-formal learning methods
Urban and rural development, natural landscaping
Traditional workshops
Forest and cave conservation, botany, and wildlife protection
