2024 World Forum for Democracy
The 2024 World Forum for Democracy arrives at a pivotal moment, as nearly half of the global population will be involved in electoral processes.
This forum will address critical challenges related to disinformation and the divisive political narratives that often arise during election campaigns.
These narratives can exploit societal divides, fostering an environment where populism can flourish. The forum will explore how electoral processes might inadvertently deepen these divides and will emphasize the necessity of educating citizens about the potential threats that populism poses to their basic rights and freedoms.
The forum will feature political discussions and presentations on successful initiatives from various countries.
From these discussions, general guiding principles will be developed to support future policy responses and actions in the field.
