The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is a leading global intergovernmental organization dedicated to energy transformation.
It serves as the main platform for international collaboration, aiding countries in their energy transitions and offering cutting-edge data and analysis on technology, innovation, policy, finance, and investment.
IRENA advocates for the widespread and sustainable use of all renewable energy sources, including bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, solar, and wind energy, to achieve sustainable development, energy security, and resilience, fostering social and economic prosperity and a climate-resilient future.
IRENA is hosting its sixth IRENA Youth Forum: The New Generation of Decision Makers alongside the fifteenth session of the IRENA Assembly (January 11-13, 2025).
This Assembly is the Agency’s highest decision-making body, where Heads of State/Government, Ministers, and global stakeholders gather to discuss and advance the energy transition.
The 2025 IRENA Youth Forum aims to enhance youth networks by connecting them with global thought leaders, government officials, and IRENA experts.
It will offer a platform for young people to contribute to IRENA’s mission of accelerating renewable energy deployment in support of climate goals and the sustainable development agenda.
Through interactive sessions such as open dialogues and thematic workshops, participants will have the chance to bring a youth perspective to the global energy discussion.
Delegates of the IRENA Youth Forum are expected to participate in:
High-level plenaries
Expert debates and roundtables
Workshops and seminars
Interactive activities
Youth circles
High-level bilateral meetings
Eligibility:
Open to all nationalities.
Applicants must be between 16-35 years old.
A proper CV is required.
No English language certificate is needed.
Applicants must have a valid passport for the duration of the Forum.
Participants will be selected based on their commitment to advancing renewable energy deployment.
Financial Conditions:
No registration or participation fee.
Full sponsorship, including travel and accommodations, will be provided for up to 35 selected participants.
