📍 This unique volunteering opportunity focuses on gathering data on street-involved youth, raising awareness about social justice, health, hygiene, and reproductive well-being, and supporting non-formal education programs.
Volunteers will also lead art-based learning sessions for children, fostering creativity and inclusion.
Beyond direct engagement, participants will play a key role in training peer educators, empowering local community leaders, supporting advocacy efforts, and contributing to project writing and resource mobilization.
A comprehensive orientation program will ensure smooth cultural adaptation, covering essential local language expressions and effective work strategies.
All activities take place in safe environments, guided by experienced local teams. Through this impactful initiative, volunteers contribute to inclusive, sustainable development goals while engaging in meaningful personal growth.
🏡 Accommodation, Meals & Transportation
📌 Housing: Volunteers will stay in a guesthouse with private rooms, electricity, drinking water, and Wi-Fi (internet bills are the volunteer’s responsibility).
🍽 Meals: 📌 Groceries will be provided by the project, and volunteers will prepare their own meals.
🚍 Transportation: 📌 Airport transfers to and from the accommodation will be organized by Hälsa International. 📌 Daily travel will be on foot or by car, depending on the location of project activities.
📚 Training Process
📌 Volunteers will receive orientation sessions covering local culture, work methodologies, and basic Ewe language skills.
📌 They will also meet local authorities and EU representatives in Togo during an introductory phase. 📌 Quarterly evaluation workshops will assess progress and provide structured feedback.
📌 The project manager will offer continuous support, helping with cultural adaptation and community integration. 📌 Peer learning sessions and capacity-building programs will be incorporated to strengthen volunteer engagement with local teams.
👥 Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is open to motivated and compassionate volunteers with the following qualities:
✅ Aged between 18-35, ✅Responsible, open to diverse cultures, and willing to work with vulnerable children and young girls, ✅Basic knowledge of French (preferred for smoother communication),
✅ Adaptable, empathetic, and able to collaborate effectively in diverse teams, ✅ Experience in education, social work, or child-focused programs is an asset,
✅ Strong commitment to social justice, equality, and human rights.
