Europe Week 2024 adopts the slogan “JKPG Voices for EU Choices” and marks the inaugural volunteering teams project in Jönköpings kommun.
This initiative brings together local volunteers, current ESC volunteers, and 15 European youth to support various activities throughout Jönköping.
The primary objective is to encourage local participation in the European Parliament elections. Through participation in this ESC Volunteering teams project, volunteers will:
Enhance their event management skills by assuming various roles in marketing, social media, outreach activities, resource management, event logistics, communications, etc., during Europe Week 2024.
Cultivate a stronger sense of citizenship by actively promoting education about the EU elections, its significance, and related topics.
Develop proficiency in intercultural communication, particularly within a European context, through collaboration within a diverse team.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Throughout the project, volunteers will receive:
Accommodation (initially at Brittebo campsite for the first few days, then in a shared facility in Jönköping).
A public transport card (providing unlimited rides in the Jönköping-Huskvarna zone).
Complimentary health insurance (in addition to a European Health Insurance Card).
Meals and pocket money.
Reimbursement for travel expenses (round trip) up to a specified limit depending on the distance traveled.
Youthpass certificate of participation.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
For this Volunteering Teams project, Ung Fritid seeks 11-12 international and 3-4 local volunteers who are:
Open-minded and tolerant of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Willing to take initiative in planning, organizing, implementing, and/or evaluating local activities.
Prepared to work both independently and in international teams.
Eager to engage in learning opportunities offered during volunteering.
Capable of understanding and expressing themselves in basic English.
