The 2026 Europe Week initiative, titled “MORE THAN A VOTE”, is designed to inspire young people to take an active role in democratic life and strengthen their sense of citizenship.
Local volunteers and current ESC participants will collaborate with 12 young Europeans in Jönköping, working together to highlight the importance of youth engagement in shaping society.
🎯 What Volunteers Will Gain
Hands-on event management experience: By taking on responsibilities in areas such as marketing, social media, outreach, logistics, resource coordination, and communications, participants will sharpen their organizational skills throughout Europe Week.
Citizenship awareness: Volunteers will actively promote and educate others about the value of youth participation and the benefits of active citizenship.
Intercultural collaboration: Working in a diverse European team will enhance communication skills and foster cultural understanding.
🛌 Support and Benefits
Shared hostel accommodation in Huskvarna,
Unlimited public transport card for the Jönköping–Huskvarna area,
Complementary health insurance alongside the European Health Insurance Card,
Food allowance and pocket money,
Travel reimbursement (round trip, within set limits based on distance),
Youthpass certificate upon completion.
📚 Training and Preparation
The first three days of the project will include an introduction and onboarding program to help volunteers settle into their roles and responsibilities.
👥 Who Can Apply?
Ung Fritid is looking for 12 motivated volunteers who are:
Open-minded and respectful of diverse backgrounds and abilities,
Ready to take initiative in planning, organizing, and evaluating local activities,
Comfortable working independently and in international teams,
Willing to embrace learning opportunities during the project,
Able to communicate in basic English.
