Project Description
Alianza-ActionAid Spain together with LOGS are inviting young volunteers to join a team dedicated to supporting Ukrainian refugees through a gender-sensitive approach.
Based at LOGS headquarters in Timisoara, you will collaborate with an international group and take part in activities such as:
After School Program for Refugee Children: leading creative workshops, offering language support, and organizing group games
Autumn Camps in Lăpușnic: assisting with therapeutic sessions, nature walks, and arts-and-crafts for children and families
Timișoara Refugee Art Festival (TRAF): helping with logistics and community outreach
Casa LOGS de la Țară: contributing to food distribution and environmental projects
This opportunity is open to everyone—whether you are a migrant, refugee, from a rural area, or facing limited economic resources.
Accommodation, Meals & Transport
Volunteers will be housed in fully furnished apartments, two per room, with shared bathrooms. Apartments are located within walking distance of Casa LOGS and close to public transport. Each unit includes a kitchen, and volunteers will receive public transport passes.
Activities will mainly take place at Casa LOGS, Țebea Street, Timisoara.
During the four 5-day summer camps in Lăpușnic, volunteers will stay in container housing with meals provided and shared bathroom facilities.
Training & Preparation
Volunteers will undergo comprehensive training covering safety, teamwork, and administrative skills. The central focus will be on feminist principles and gender equality, introduced during pre-departure training in Madrid with Alianza.
Upon arrival in Timisoara, orientation sessions will cover the city, work schedules, rights and responsibilities, and team integration. Additional workshops will strengthen soft skills needed for the planned activities.
Participant Profile
We are seeking volunteers passionate about gender equality and feminism, eager to make a meaningful impact. Strong communication skills, openness to new ideas, and enthusiasm for teamwork are essential.
Being proactive and willing to learn is highly valued, and prior experience in leading activities is a plus. Knowledge of Ukrainian is especially beneficial for connecting with beneficiaries.
