Project Description
Aligned with the European Youth Strategy, this project aims to encourage young people’s participation, empowerment, and social as well as civic engagement by fostering connections, relationships, and the exchange of experiences.
Four young volunteers from various European countries will take part in non-formal educational activities designed to promote social inclusion for individuals facing fewer opportunities.
The initiative specifically seeks to enhance the active citizenship and overall physical and mental well-being of young people living in disadvantaged rural communities.
Key Activities:
Intercultural and intergenerational workshops
Education on mental health and wilderness therapy
Leisure and recreational activities
The program will be held in Terralba, a quaint town located on Sardinia’s west coast in Italy.
Accommodation, Food & Travel Arrangements
Volunteers will reside in a private house offering double bedrooms and shared common areas, including a kitchen, living room, and bathroom.
Participants will receive a daily stipend of €11.00, covering both pocket money and food expenses. Travel expenses will be reimbursed based on the EU distance band system.
Training Opportunities The program includes various training sessions, such as:
General online training
Linguistic support
Pre-departure preparation
On-arrival training
Participation in annual European Solidarity Corps events
Specific task-related and non-formal training sessions focusing on soft skills, conflict resolution, team building, and problem-solving. Additional training will also be provided for activities specific to the project.
Participant Profile The project seeks volunteers aged 18-30 who possess:
An open mind and strong social skills
Empathy, positivity, and enthusiasm
Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn through intercultural experiences and challenges
A collaborative attitude, ready to work toward shared goals
