🇵🇹 European Commission Internship in Portugal: A Unique Opportunity for Young People
For young individuals aiming for an international career, eager to experience the core values of the Council of Europe first-hand and motivated to work with a global citizenship mindset, an exciting chance is now open:
the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe has officially launched applications for its 2025 autumn internship period.
Based in Lisbon, the North-South Centre fosters cooperation between Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, working to promote human rights, democracy and the rule of law on a global scale.
Completing an internship here means far more than gaining work experience — it’s a gateway to intercultural dialogue, solidarity and shared responsibility in action.
Interns receive a monthly stipend of approximately €640.
During their placement, they contribute to daily tasks, assist in planning events, support international projects and engage in communication activities.

Internship Period: August – December 2025
Duration: Minimum 3 months, maximum 5 months

✅ Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be at least 18 years old
Must hold citizenship of a member country of the Council of Europe or the North-South Centre
Should have completed a university degree or at least three years of higher education
Must have excellent command of either English or French, with a good level in the other language
