About the Project
Join an international environmental volunteering project in the picturesque coastal town of Stykkishólmur, Iceland. This initiative focuses on protecting natural areas, improving outdoor recreational spaces, and supporting sustainable access to local forests and hiking routes.
Volunteers will contribute to a variety of practical environmental tasks, including:
- Trimming vegetation and clearing overgrown areas;
- Cutting branches and removing selected trees to improve forest pathways;
- Maintaining existing walking trails;
- Assisting with the development and restoration of hiking routes;
- Helping preserve natural landscapes while increasing visitor safety.
Depending on daily needs, participants may work in smaller teams, although groups will always consist of at least two volunteers.
Working hours are generally 09:00–17:00, including scheduled lunch and coffee breaks.
No previous experience is required. However, the activities involve physical outdoor work, so participants should be prepared for demanding tasks and enjoy working in nature.

Accommodation includes:
- Shared sleeping areas with mattresses provided by the host organisation;
- Access to a fully equipped kitchen;

- Unlimited entry to the local swimming pool, where shower facilities are available.

Food supplies will be provided throughout the project. Volunteers will prepare their own meals together and share responsibility for cooking and cleaning duties.
Please note that all food supplied by SEEDS will be vegetarian.
Travel costs will be reimbursed according to the Erasmus+/ESC travel distance calculator.
