The primary objective of education is to enhance young people’s participation in democratic processes and to strengthen their communication skills.
IYNF is organizing the first training course of the 2025 cycle, “Pact for Impact I: Communication & Action,” which will take place from February 10-15, 2025, in Kuusamo, Finland.
During this training, you will:
Dive into the heart of volunteering and youth participation, discover what motivates people to act, and learn how to inspire others.
Acquire effective communication techniques to overcome bias, combat discrimination, and tackle misinformation.
Develop strategies to construct important arguments and take action.
This event will lay the foundation for a year-long mission to develop soft skills.
Together, we will begin creating a series of argumentation cards, practical tools that will help you confidently engage in discussions and negotiations on key topics. And this is just the beginning!
You will have the opportunity to join the conversation, enhance your leadership skills, and amplify your impact.
The training will be held at the Oivanki Training Center in Kuusamo, Finland (be prepared for temperatures that can drop as low as -20 degrees Celsius)!
Due to the remote location, it may take two to three days to get there, depending on where you are coming from. Therefore, plan to start your journey on February 8th, arrive at the venue on the 10th, and return on the 15th, reaching home by the 17th.
A good command of English is required to follow this training.
Please note:
One of IYNF’s goals is to reduce the ecological impact of mobility, so participants are expected to use green transportation (trains, buses, etc.).
This means you should consider the need for travel days before applying. Flights are only permitted from remote locations where sustainable transportation is not available, and only with IYNF’s approval.
Important! You are also expected to attend the second training, “Pact for Impact II: Conflicts & Solutions,” which will take place from May 5-10, 2025 (location to be confirmed).
Building on the first activity in the series, this training will deepen participants’ understanding of conflict dynamics, provide practical techniques in moderation and counselin, and enable the collaborative development of case studies to contribute to a set of argumentation cards for youth civic engagement.
