In the heart of Sweden, Ängsbacka invites young people to take part in building a more regenerative and sustainable environment. Throughout this journey, you will gain practical skills, deepen your understanding of community life, and create lasting friendships.
This year, Ängsbacka offers two ESC Volunteering Teams, each running for 5–6 weeks, designed to inspire and empower participants while contributing to a more sustainable present and future.
📌 What is the European Solidarity Corps (ESC)?
The European Solidarity Corps is an EU initiative for young people aged 18–30, offering opportunities to volunteer or work on projects across Europe. Its mission is to foster solidarity, encourage social participation, and support personal growth.
As an ESC volunteer, you receive food, accommodation, travel reimbursement, pocket money, insurance, and mentorship. You will engage in meaningful projects that promote teamwork, cultural exchange, and community involvement.

Ängsbacka warmly welcomes young people from all backgrounds, including those with fewer opportunities. Inclusivity and respect for each person’s unique journey are at the core of our community.
🏠 Accommodation
Volunteers will stay in dormitories with bunk beds.
Shared showers and toilets are available.
Pets cannot be brought to Ängsbacka.
🍴 Food
The kitchen serves vegetarian and vegan meals three times daily.
Tea, coffee, and occasional fruits or snacks are provided.
A separate community kitchen is available for personal cooking.
🚌 Transportation
- Located in the Swedish countryside, Ängsbacka is 2 km from Molkom and 30 km from Karlstad.
- Molkom can be reached by foot or bicycle, offering shops, a gym, and a medical center.
- Karlstad provides wider services such as a hospital, library, and public facilities.
- Local buses connect Molkom and Karlstad.
🌟 Practices & Support
Volunteers are encouraged to join daily programs including yoga, dance, meditation, massage, conscious workouts, films, sauna, and open stage events.
Sharing circles are a central practice at Ängsbacka, offering a safe space for deep listening and authentic expression.
Volunteers are responsible for their own wellbeing but are supported by mentors and, when needed, professional coaches. Additional mentorship is available for those with fewer opportunities.
