Would you like to contribute to the empowerment of children, local communities, and environmental conservation?
This volunteer opportunity allows individuals aged 18-35 to spend six months supporting ICYE Nigeria, a local organization dedicated to the socio-economic development of disadvantaged communities around Lagos, Nigeria.
Volunteers will work 30-38 hours per week and will engage in activities such as providing educational support for children in schools and after-school clubs, organizing initiatives and training sessions for community members on health education,
Climate change, sustainable living practices and environmental conservation, conducting environmental conservation activities in the Makoko area (including tree planting, cleaning waterways and paths and removing invasive species), and creating advocacy materials and activities to raise awareness about community issues and promote policy changes.
Dates are flexible, lasting 180 days.
Accommodation, Food, and Transport Arrangements:
Volunteers will stay with a host family in Lagos, sharing a room and having breakfast and dinner at home. Lunch will be provided at the worksite.
Volunteers will receive an allowance of €32 per day to cover flight tickets, visa costs, vaccinations, and other personal expenses.
The program covers airport pick-up and drop-off, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), accommodation, and all administrative costs.
Training During the Activity:
Volunteers will participate in an online training session before departure and an on-site training upon arrival. These sessions will provide all necessary information about the activities and daily life in the country.
Volunteers will have access to various support services, including language assistance. Your European support organization will be Amigos de Europa.

Looking for motivated volunteers interested in the work of the hosting organization and willing to adapt to a new culture, food, and environment, while following safety guidelines.
