Description
The One cooperative aims to enhance the socio-cultural and economic development of its community through various initiatives such as language and job training, innovative workshops for minors, activities to combat educational poverty, promotion of the local area, non-hotel hospitality, and advocating a new economic model.
The cooperative supports both young people and adults.
Volunteers will assist in managing the hostel, including tasks such as tourist reception and maintaining open spaces.
They will also participate in farm activities, learn to cook with local produce, work with migrants and organizations that provide food to those in need, get to know the Ukrainian community in Crotone, write articles for the local newspaper, and create content for social media.
Additionally, they will have the opportunity to join comic workshops, local dance classes, and cultural exchange activities.
Accommodation, Food, and Transport Arrangements
Volunteers will receive a daily allowance of €17, which includes travel expenses (please save all tickets and boarding passes).
Accommodation will be provided in the hostel managed by the organization, in double/triple rooms shared with other volunteers, with an en-suite bathroom. Meals will be prepared by the volunteers and shared with the staff during activities.
Training During the Activity
Upon arrival, volunteers will undergo a 7-day training organized by the coordinating organization, Associazione Joint. There will be a mid-term evaluation and a final evaluation that includes obtaining a Youthpass Certificate, which will take 2 days.
Participant Profile
Ideal volunteers should be between 18 and 30 years old and must be residents or citizens of an EU country (including Italy). They should be available for the entire project period (24/03/25 – 24/05/25).
Preferred candidates should have experience in video-making or youth work, or be unemployed for more than a year, come from rural areas, or be from disadvantaged economic backgrounds.
Volunteers should enjoy outdoor activities, working in groups, and interacting with the public. They should be ready for manual work, curious, open-minded, creative, and eager to work with young people and hostel guests.
The ability to propose workshops based on their interests and some knowledge of video editing would be beneficial.
