ESC Project - Short Term
Italy , Maiori : 1 Month Volunteering Project

Italy , Maiori : 1 Month Volunteering Project

Project Description:

ACARBIO is a non-profit organization operating on the Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our mission involves preserving the local environment, cultural heritage, and supporting the community through social work.

The upcoming project will take place in the town of Maiori. Volunteers will engage in various activities, including sea turtle monitoring and awareness campaigns (some of which may occur early in the morning).

Specifically, volunteers will assist the local museum in Maiori, help spread the city’s cultural heritage, renovate an abandoned community space in an old building, participate in beach clean-ups to raise awareness about sea pollution, and organize activities for children.

Accommodation, Food, and Transport:

Participants will be hosted in a centrally located building in Maiori, provided by the local Catholic Nuns order. The facility includes a kitchen, two toilets, and one shower.

Volunteers will share rooms with five beds, separated by gender. Accommodation rules, such as regular cleaning shifts, community cooking, and respectful behavior, must be followed.

Food supplies will be provided, and travel costs will be reimbursed according to ESC guidelines. Additionally, volunteers will receive €6 per day as pocket money. Everything in Maiori is within walking distance.

Training During the Activity:

Throughout the project, participants will learn how to live together as a community. They’ll share daily responsibilities and experience communal living.

Participants will also gain insights into the local cultural heritage and learn how to promote environmental initiatives. There will be opportunities to learn Italian as well.

Participant Profile:

Seeking motivated young individuals aged 18-30 who are interested in volunteering to support local communities.

Whether you have artistic skills for decorating walls, experience in photo/video making, or simply a positive spirit and willingness to learn, we encourage you to join

Please note that arrival and departure days are scheduled for August 23rd and September 23rd.
