EVENT OVERVIEW
Join for a unique volunteering opportunity from June 10th to June 23rd at Bassa Barreta, a communal lodging nestled in the vibrant “Les Rodanes” natural park in Vilamarxant, Valencia.
Spearheaded by INTERPRETA NATURA, our mission is to safeguard our natural and cultural treasures.
The hostel serves as a beacon of information, welcoming visitors from 9 AM to 3 PM and offering complimentary stays for community groups.
Our goal is to nurture the park’s ecosystem and craft educational resources on environmental stewardship.
We invite 12 spirited youths from across Europe to contribute approximately 30 hours weekly, spread over 5 days, with 2 rest days, as we embark on this ecological journey.
LIVING AND SUSTENANCE
Embrace a full experience with provided round-trip transit, cozy hostel accommodations, and wholesome organic meals from Monday to Friday.
Weekends are yours to explore the charms of Valencia, with additional funds supplied for your culinary adventures.
We champion eco-friendly travel, offer shared quarters with 4 beds per room, and maintain gender-specific bathrooms. A communal kitchen stands ready, stocked with locally-sourced organic produce, where volunteers will take turns preparing meals for the group.
ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION
Volunteers will dedicate 5 hours each morning to hands-on conservation work and spend 2 hours in the afternoon delving into the local biodiversity.
Free time is allocated for personal pursuits or shared responsibilities like cleaning and cooking. We’re revitalizing a trail near the hostel to create an interactive learning zone, constructing a children’s play area, assembling avian nesting shelters, and planting symbiotic trees.
These activities are complemented by thoughtful dialogues on global betterment, guided by the “Sustainable NGOs” online course. Participants should come prepared for this enriching curriculum.
IDEAL CANDIDATES
We’re assembling a team that values camaraderie and respect, living and working together for two weeks.
While no prior experience is necessary, we seek individuals driven by a passion for environmental preservation and a zest for knowledge.
Be ready for physical labor, culinary duties for a dozen peers, and creative endeavors. Our collective efficacy will shape our success as we unite to surmount obstacles and achieve excellence.
