Spain , Madrid : 5 Days Erasmus+ Seminar

Spain , Madrid : 5 Days Erasmus+ Seminar

Key Goals of the Initiative:

Ratification of the Madrid Accord: Gathering representatives from National Youth Councils across Europe and prominent European youth climate organizations to endorse the “Madrid Accord.” This pact symbolizes a unified pledge to synchronize endeavors and stances in youth climate coordination, the establishment of a European Regional COY, and the endorsement of Local Youth Conferences (LYCs) throughout Europe.

Youth Network Empowerment: The creation and fortification of a European youth network dedicated to climate change. The goal is to cultivate cooperation among Youth Councils and climate groups, exchanging successful practices and strategies.

Climate Action Leadership: Galvanizing European youth to spearhead projects and tangible actions within their communities. The aim is to stimulate proactive engagement in combating climate change.

Pre-BONN UNFCCC Collaborative Proposals: Steering discussions and joint proposal crafting with a focus on cross-generational accountability. The objective is to formulate a unified document that will serve as the foundation for joint proposals at the BONN UNFCCC.

Championing CJE Climate Priorities: Advocacy for reducing emissions, adapting to extreme events, transitioning to a decarbonized economy, safeguarding oceans, ensuring a just transition, and fostering sustainability education.

Advancing the ACE Initiative (Action for Climate Empowerment): Promoting climate governance at the Climate Change Conferences (COPs).

Focused Training on Key Themes: Conducting educational sessions on specific topics to deepen participants’ insights and abilities in areas such as just transition and related education.

Methodology for Achieving Objectives:

Plenary Assemblies: Conducting sessions to outline the initiative’s goals and formally ratify the “Madrid Accord.”

Topic-Specific Workshops: Hosting workshops on pertinent subjects like the global climate action agenda, preparations for BONN UNFCCC, the Green New Deal, and particular European concerns.

Joint Document Crafting: Orchestrating collaborative sessions to compose formal proposals, ensuring a multitude of viewpoints are represented.

Ongoing Involvement: Implementing systems for persistent follow-up and participant involvement, including forming a national youth representative group to sustain coordination and exert influence at elevated levels.

Information Dissemination and Consciousness Raising: Leveraging media and digital channels to broadcast the outcomes, suggestions, and pledges conceived during the initiative, thus amplifying the profile of European youth climate activism.

Engagement with Policymakers: Organizing a session in a significant political venue, such as a ministry or legislative body, for the ultimate discussion and accord endorsement.

The agenda includes diverse elements like initial instructional sessions on UNFCCC themes, collaborative groups during the event, and a legislative gathering on May 22nd to finalize adjustments to the Madrid Accord, attended by the Spanish Minister of Youth and Minister of Ecological Transition.

Note: This project is financed by the participating National Agencies of the European Solidarity Corps program.
