The University of Hong Kong (HKU) Summer Research Programme 2025 is a 10-week intensive research training programme designed for elite students from around the world who are interested in pursuing research studies at HKU.
This programme includes networking and extra-curricular activities.
One-to-One Mentorship with a Distinguished Professor:
Selected participants will be guided by a renowned professor at HKU to plan and conduct a research project. The Programme office will assist participants in matching with mentors based on their priorities and research interests.
Scholarship for Participants: Each participant who successfully completes the Programme will receive a scholarship of HK$10,0001.
Financial Support: Financial support will be provided on a reimbursement basis for airfare up to HK$5,0001 and university accommodation up to HK$5,0001. (Students residing in or currently studying in Hong Kong are only eligible to receive financial support for university accommodation.)
Awards for Top Performers: Top performers in the Programme will receive awards and prizes.
The amounts may be adjusted pending budget approval.
Target Participants:
Outstanding undergraduate students in their 3rd or 4th year with a CGPA of 3.6 or above (or equivalent)
Exceptional Master’s degree students with a Bachelor’s degree in 1st Class Honours (or equivalent)
Selection Criteria:
Excellent academic performance
Strong interest in postgraduate research studies
Previous research experience
Interest in interdisciplinary studies
High proficiency in English
