Activity Overview
The project aims to assemble a team of ten volunteers dedicated to maintaining urban school gardens in partner primary schools, emphasizing natural gardening practices and ecological awareness.
Volunteers will also coordinate Garden festivals and environmental initiatives, including local clean-up efforts. The project aims to raise awareness about environmental protection and the benefits of volunteering.
Accommodation, Meals, and Transportation
Volunteers will be housed in shared rooms at a local hostel, with communal bathrooms and kitchen facilities. Vegetarian/vegan meals will be provided for lunch as part of a challenge to promote plant-based diets.
The hosting organization will cover all expenses, including travel, accommodation, meals, local transportation, and activity costs, up to the maximum allowed under the European Solidarity Corps guidelines.
Training Program
Volunteers will engage in various training sessions throughout the project, including on-arrival training, gardening techniques, behavior in school settings, personal project development, and workshops on Youthpass and 8-Key Competences. Additionally, basic Croatian language lessons and information on vegetarianism will be provided.
Participant Criteria
We seek motivated volunteers willing to actively participate in natural gardening, festival organization, and environmental initiatives.
No prior experience is necessary, but volunteers should be comfortable with physical outdoor work and be open to challenges such as insect exposure and getting dirty.
Individuals interested in topics related to the environment, sustainability, vegetarianism, veganism, healthy lifestyles, and volunteering are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency in communicative English is required, and full participation in the mobility is expected.
During the activities time: from 27.042024 to 07.06.2024 : there will be a total of 6 weeks.
