VOLUNTEERING FOR LOCAL HERITAGE AND ENVIRONMENT IN PLASENZUELA
Activity Overview:
Our projects focus on preserving and promoting the local heritage of rural areas, encompassing both material and intangible aspects, along with environmental education.
Volunteers will engage in a variety of activities, including environmental initiatives, orchard maintenance, gardening, recycling, “food km.0” gastronomy, and workshops for both children and adults.
Logistics:
Expenses Covered: The project covers pocket money (€5/day), food allowance (€6/day), accommodation, and travel expenses (as outlined by the project).
Accommodation: Volunteers will reside in a typical house in the area, equipped with essential amenities. Accommodation includes shared double rooms, a kitchen, living room, and bathroom.
Transport: Local transportation in Plasenzuela is facilitated by buses, connecting to nearby towns like Cáceres and Trujillo. A local supermarket is available for shopping, and there’s a traditional market in the town square on Fridays.
Training Activities:
Volunteers will participate in various environmental activities, including fieldwork, recycling, composting, path cleaning, mural creation, placement of stork nests, and the recovery of spaces and dry walls.
Reforestation efforts will focus on degraded rural areas using native trees of Extremadura.
Participant Profile:
We seek volunteers who are creative, motivated to work in a team, open-minded, and interested in environmental activities and gardening.
The ability to coexist harmoniously with other volunteers and adhere to assigned schedules is essential.
If you have a passion for local heritage, environmental sustainability, and collaborative efforts, join us in Plasenzuela for a fulfilling volunteering experience! 🌿🌍
