EVENT OVERVIEW
The Municipality of Koper has seen a surge in demand for graffiti locations and street art culture. In response, the Youth Center Koper initiated the Street Art Fest Koper in 2022, a multi-day graffiti festival.
The event engages various stakeholders and young people in selecting city painting locations.
Beyond graffiti areas, the festival offers a diverse program including workshops on graffiti and stencil preparation, guided tours of painted underpasses, street art lectures, and a music program reflecting urban culture.
Through this festival, we aim to support emerging street artists, nurture street art, and promote one of the most significant contemporary art movements of the 21st century.
ACCOMMODATION, MEALS, AND TRANSPORT
The program includes:
Travel expenses: Up to 500 km from Koper: 180 EUR / Up to 2000 km from Koper: 275 EUR.
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in a centrally located hostel in Koper. Rooms consist of 4 twin-bed rooms and one room with three beds.
Food allowance and pocket money will be provided for each participant.
TRAINING DURING THE EVENT
As a participant, you will:
Gain firsthand insight into the planning and preparation of a festival.
Acquire knowledge and skills in festival design, hosting, and management through practical experience.
Develop multimedia knowledge and digital literacy.
Have the opportunity to work on a personal project with the resources of the Youth Center Koper.
Improve proficiency in working with various equipment.
Receive the Youthpass certificate, among other benefits.
PARTICIPANT ROLES
Volunteers will be assigned roles including:
Photography and Video: Capturing festival moments and performances.
Social Media Management: Sharing updates and engaging with the online audience.
Security and Physical Work: Assisting in maintaining a safe environment and festival logistics.
Artistic Contributions: Participating in hands-on artistic tasks such as mural painting.
Artist Interviews: Conducting interviews with participating artists, musicians, and performers.
