Project Description: Eco Echo is a project that organizes ecological awareness workshops in high schools in Romania. The workshops are tailored around non-formal education principles, aiming to engage students in discovering ecological issues and brainstorming solutions.
Achievements: In October 2023, Eco Echo was awarded the SALTO Awards for being the most impactful youth project in the “Environment & Fight Against Climate Change” category.
Non-Formal Education: The workshops are based on non-formal education principles to foster an environment where students can actively engage in learning outside of traditional classroom settings.
Logistics:
Accommodation: Accommodation is provided in USAMVB dormitories with two individuals per room and private bathroom facilities.
Food: Volunteers receive a daily food allowance of 5 EUR and an additional 3 EUR for pocket money.
Transport: All flights should arrive at OTP airport in Bucharest. Extra budget is allocated for green travel, and all volunteers receive public transport membership.
Participant Profile:
The project is open to young people aged 18 to 30 from European Union member states and nearby countries.
Desired qualities include interest in the project themes, effective communication skills, responsibility, proactivity, and recognition of the value of participating in the European Solidarity Corps program.
Priority is given to those with fewer opportunities and those with previous experience in environmental activism.
