SUMMER PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project is a vibrant summer initiative taking place in Poznań’s communal spaces, designed for 30 dynamic volunteers from various countries during the 2024 holiday season.
The participants will engage in public animations for local children throughout the summer, culminating in a self-organized art-street festival.
These intercultural activities will offer kids a virtual journey to far-off lands without leaving their city, enhancing their language abilities and understanding of global cooperation.
Additionally, volunteers will participate in outdoor festivals in Poznań as a rehearsal for hosting our festival. Our core principles include INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION, ARTISTIC EDUCATION, ECOLOGY AND HEALTH, and PEACE. During the initial week, volunteers will receive training to hone their creative skills and learn animation techniques.
LIVING ARRANGEMENTS AND LOGISTICS
Volunteers will be accommodated in the Jurand Student Dormitory in Poznań, which offers shared rooms equipped with refrigerators and bed linens, and communal bathroom facilities.
Nearby amenities include shops, a supermarket, and convenient public transport links, with a bus and tram stop directly outside the dormitory. While bedding is provided, participants are expected to bring their own towels.
CIM Horyzonty will supply each volunteer with a local transport pass, ensuring easy access to the city center within approximately 30 minutes.
Volunteers will receive a stipend and food allowance. During festival times, accommodations will shift to tents, so volunteers are advised to bring a sleeping bag for their stay in Poland!
TRAINING AND SUPPORT
In the first week, ESC volunteers will partake in intensive training focused on our values, children’s activities, and festival organization, culminating in a final evaluation at the project’s conclusion.
Volunteers will benefit from the guidance of seasoned mentors who will facilitate integration, familiarization with Poznań, and regular evaluations.
Support from coordinators and psychologists will be available if necessary. Activity supervisors will oversee the volunteers’ work at each location. For detailed information, please refer to the infopack provided.
