The Yokohama 2024 International Youth Conference on Biodiversity eagerly awaits applications from young individuals until March 30, 2024.
About the Conference:
Celebrating over a decade of youth engagement in the Convention on Biological Diversity, the conference is set for August 2024 in Yokohama, Japan in collaboration with the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN), and the Ministry of Environment.
It will convene over a hundred youths globally in Yokohama City from August 25 to 31, 2024, to exchange ideas and strategize for the effective realization of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
Program Highlights:
The event will underscore the pivotal role of the youth in championing biodiversity.
Participants will forge connections and networks, contributing to a collective effort that champions transformative change in line with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, especially focusing on targets 22 and 23.
Incorporating music, arts, cultural dialogues, and workshops, the conference will empower young leaders to express their perspectives, spur innovation, and advocate for actions that align with a sustainable coexistence with nature.
Collaborative Opportunities:
Attendees and partners will engage in the Whole-of-Society and Whole-of-Government approach integral to the Framework.
The event will bolster the execution of the Local Authorities, Cities and Other Local Authorities Action Plan for Biodiversity (2023–2030).

Aid in the development of initiatives that enhance the capacity of local, regional, and international communities to support biodiversity,
Aiming for the 2030 targets and the integration of National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAPs) within their respective national frameworks.
