Activity Overview
This altruistic endeavor is a collaborative initiative with the Palermo Institute for the Visually Impaired and a seasoned drama instructor who will guide the proceedings.
Volunteers will join visually impaired youths from the institute in theatrical workshops designed to prepare all participants for a culminating performance at the fortnight’s end.
These sessions, rooted in informal education methods, aim to foster comprehension and surmount the challenges presented by visual impairment and linguistic diversity in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural context.
Living, Dining, and Travel Provisions
Lodging for volunteers will be communal, with four individuals sharing each dormitory-style room. Provisioning will be managed by the host, with meal preparation being a collective volunteer effort.
Instructional Sessions
Introductory training will be provided on the initial day of the activity.
Participant Profile:
A passion for the dramatic arts is essential, with prior involvement in theatre—whether as a volunteer or workshop attendee—being a factor in the selection process.
A compassionate disposition towards individuals facing adversity and disabilities is imperative.
Communication will be limited to those who have been shortlisted.
