COMMUNITY ACTION PROJECT IN PALERMO, ITALY
Activity Description:
The two-month project in Palermo aims to address social challenges and enhance EU awareness for positive change.
Volunteers, aged 18-30, from various EU countries, will engage in community actions, designing and implementing interventions for individuals at risk of marginalization.
They will also promote training and non-formal education opportunities.
Main tasks involve collaborating with local associations, supporting daily activities to increase social cohesion, and proposing ideas and initiatives related to social marginality.
Volunteers will develop new activities and workshops for local youth while sharing their country’s culture, language, and traditions.
Accommodation, Food, and Transport:
Shared rooms in an apartment in Palermo’s historical center.
Food allowance provided through vouchers.
Pocket money: €6.00 per day of activity.
Volunteers serving outside the historic center will receive a bike.
Training During the Activity:
Participation in the Online Linguistic Support scheme.
Involvement in a 20-hour Italian course in attendance.
Participant Profile:
Four young, motivated, and flexible volunteers are sought.
No high-level English proficiency required.
No strong previous experience needed, but a strong motivation for personal and community transformation, especially in the pursuit of social and environmental justice.
