Final Call: One Volunteer Needed for a 32-Day Conservation Adventure on the Cilento Coast!
Are you ready to embark on a transformative summer experience along Southern Italy’s breathtaking Cilento coastline? We have one final spot available!
As a volunteer in this 32-day program, you’ll join an international team committed to safeguarding sea turtle nests, assisting newly hatched turtles, and mobilizing local communities for marine conservation.
Every day brings new challenges and opportunities—from pre-dawn beach patrols to round-the-clock nest monitoring during hatching seasons, from launching public awareness initiatives to conducting detailed environmental surveys measuring human impact.
This immersive project, organized by ACARBIO and integrated within the CarettainVista network under the guidance of the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station (LIFE TURTLENEST), offers unparalleled hands-on field experience, personal growth through emotional challenges, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Experience the raw rhythm of nature alongside devoted biologists and volunteers from across Europe.
Accommodation, Meals, and Travel Arrangements
Your accommodations will alternate between the historic Palazzo Ricci in Ascea and designated tent stations. While mattresses and basic camp kitchen supplies are provided, please remember to bring your own sleeping bag.
The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program fully covers your lodging, food supplies, and meal budget.
In addition, you’ll receive a daily pocket allowance of €6 and travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with ESC guidelines. These field-based living conditions are designed to foster a deep connection with the natural environment.
On-the-Job Training
Throughout this project, you will be equipped with essential skills in sea turtle conservation.
Training will cover nest tracking, hatchling protection protocols, and strategies for effective public outreach.
Guidance is provided by experienced biologists and dedicated conservationists from the CarettainVista network and the LIFE TURTLENEST initiative. This hands-on training ensures you develop practical skills in marine conservation and field research, with continuous support available during your entire stay.

Looking for motivated individuals aged 18 to 30 who are passionate about marine conservation, enjoy working as part of a team, and are enthusiastic about outdoor fieldwork.
