International Leadership Workshop for Rural Youth 2025 in Germany (Funded)
This is an outstanding opportunity for youth leaders and professionals from around the globe to apply for the 32nd International Leadership Workshop for Rural Youth, set to take place from August 14 to 27, 2025, in Herrsching, Bavaria, Germany.
Organized and funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), this workshop offers a remarkable chance for individuals involved in rural youth work and vocational training to develop their leadership skills.
About the Workshop
Since its inception in 1962, the International Leadership Workshop for Rural Youth, organized by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), has been a key initiative fostering global cooperation and leadership development in rural youth work.
The upcoming 32nd edition, themed “Sharing Skills – Shaping Change,” will be held from August 14 to 27, 2025, in Herrsching, Bavaria.
This workshop aims to address the challenges of transforming agri-food systems and highlights the significance of international collaboration as a cornerstone for sustainable development and peace policy.
Focusing on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it seeks to empower participants to advance human rights, promote gender equality, integrate marginalized groups, and drive sustainable rural development through multilateral efforts.
The seminar is designed to enhance the personal strengths and leadership capabilities of global leaders and multipliers in youth work and vocational training, equipping them with practical skills to optimize resources in their countries.
Through interactive workshops, participants will reflect on pressing global issues such as sustainable food systems, climate action, and poverty alleviation, while developing strategies to tackle these challenges in their local contexts.
This highly interactive experience also fosters international networking, allowing participants to share knowledge, build partnerships, and create personal action plans for implementing effective solutions in their communities.
Eligibility | Who Can Apply?
Applications are welcome from leaders and professionals in rural youth work or vocational training from all over the world who:
Are driven to enhance their leadership skills and broaden their perspectives.
Are committed to sustainable rural development, empowering youth and women, and addressing global challenges like food security and climate action.
Are proficient in at least one of these three languages: English, German, or French.
There is no age limit for applying to the workshop.
Expenses and Benefits
Organizers will provide free accommodation (potentially in double rooms).
Catering (meals provided during the event) will be offered.
Working documents and excursions are included in the program.
Participants are responsible for their travel expenses to and from the venue, as well as any visa and administrative fees if needed.
Participants are encouraged to seek financial support from their organizations, employers, or sponsors to cover these additional costs if necessary.
Participants will gain leadership skills and implementation strategies.
Participants will reflect on global issues and adapt solutions to their contexts.
