Project Overview
Yamochori began two years ago in Makria Logka, a small village in Etoloakarnania.
This village, with its limited permanent population, has a significant need for youth empowerment, environmental consciousness, and community mobilization. To address these needs, we aim to welcome additional volunteers through the ESC program.
While we already host volunteers from other international networks, we believe the ESC program will further sustain our efforts.
Our open field serves as the village hub, fostering interaction and learning. It acts as a communal space for teaching sustainable farming techniques, construction methods, educational improvements, and raising awareness about climate change, recycling, zero waste, and composting.
Accommodation, Food, and Transport
Participants will stay in a nearby village house equipped with a kitchen, two bedrooms, an outdoor toilet with a shower, and a washing machine.
The village is quite small, with the nearest market located 4 km away. This lifestyle is a stark contrast to the fast-paced city life. Transportation to Thermo, Kallithea, and Agrinio is provided twice a week by car.
Training and Activities
Volunteers will engage in various activities, including:
Organizing, designing, and implementing farm infrastructure, such as woodwork, natural building, and traditional stone methods.
Planning and executing the permaculture design of our farm.
Participating in local projects like school gardening, path cleaning, and community events.
Involvement in Erasmus+ projects hosted on our farm.
Conducting English lessons for locals and creating thematic workshops.

Aged 20-30 (not older than 31 as of July 1, 2023).
