Join in Leipzig for a unique volunteering opportunity from June 15th to June 30th, 2024!
This inclusive project involves gardening and creatively painting benches alongside young individuals with hearing impairments, autism, or other special needs from a local school, all under the guidance of artist Nagua Dunkelmann. For more details, visit the official website.
Activity Details:
Dates: Arrival on June 15th, 2024, and departure on June 30th, 2024.
Participants: 6 local youths from Leipzig and 4 youngsters from other countries.
Tasks: Cultivating a section of the garden and artistically painting 7 benches at the Budde-Haus socio-cultural center in Leipzig.
Work Hours: 5 hours per day.
Leisure & Possible Activities: Canoeing, trips to the lake, excursions to the Saxon Switzerland National Park, summer cinema, and more.
Accommodation, Food, and Transport:
Accommodation: Shared double rooms with rent covered by the project. Monthly passes will be provided.
Food: Meals during work hours are prepared by Budde-Haus, with partial food allowance for other meals.
Pocket Money: Participants will receive a total of 6 euros per day.
Travel: Costs are reimbursed following EU regulations.
Training During the Activity:
Participants will learn about gardening, painting, hone their craftsmanship, improve language skills in German/English with fellow participants, experience teamwork, and gain intercultural competencies.
Participant Profile:
Age: Between 18-30 years old.
Language: Basic knowledge of German or English.
Interests: A penchant for artistic, craft, or gardening activities.
