This partnership-building activity aims to address the challenges faced by island and rural communities.
By promoting youth engagement, sustainability, digital skills, and international cooperation, it seeks to enhance opportunities and resilience in these areas.
Youth living in island and rural regions encounter unique obstacles such as geographical isolation, limited access to education and job opportunities, climate vulnerability, and migration to urban areas.
Despite these challenges, these regions also boast strong community ties, cultural heritage, and opportunities for sustainable local development.
This Erasmus+ partnership-building activity will bring together youth workers and organizations operating in these areas to share best practices, encourage cross-border collaboration, and develop innovative approaches to youth engagement and empowerment.
This activity aligns with Erasmus+ priorities by:
Promoting youth participation in civic life and policy-making processes.
Supporting youth-led projects that foster sustainable development in island and rural communities.
Encouraging digital and entrepreneurial skills to improve employability in remote areas.
Establishing strong international partnerships for future Erasmus+ projects.
The 7-day partnership-building activity will actively involve participants from all participating countries.
We aim to host 25 participants from around 12 different countries.
The activity will feature an innovative format and opportunities for co-creation (you will be notified in due time).
It will take place in Sainte-Rose, located in the north of Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe (Eastern Caribbean). The venue will provide a rural island atmosphere, surrounded by nature.
Additionally, all expenses will be covered, and the event will be held from March 25th to April 3rd, 2025.
Please note that a sobriety policy (no alcohol or drugs) will be enforced during the activity program and throughout the entire stay. We also kindly ask you to limit your smoking habits, as the venue is smoking-free.
