DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE
Engage in the creation of a tactile exploration path at the Foyer d’accueil médicalisé (FAM) La Fontaine in Gien (45), a facility offering permanent housing for individuals with disabilities.
This initiative is not only about the technical execution but also a profound human journey, as you will interact closely with the residents and share enriching experiences.
This endeavor is a segment of a broader scheme to enhance the outdoor spaces as per the request of the ADAPEI 45 association, the governing body of the establishment.
The novel amenity aims to foster the residents’ engagement with the external surroundings in all its facets, bolstering their self-assurance and dexterity.
Your role encompasses executing the groundwork, constructing an extensive timber framework, and fitting the diverse components that constitute the tactile path, much to the joy of the residents and the year-round caregiving staff.
LOGISTICS FOR LODGING, NUTRITION, AND TRANSPORT
Your accommodation will be on-site, with a personal tent allocated for outdoor living. An indoor space will be accessible for organizing activities or as a haven during inclement weather.
Sanitation facilities and showers will be available for your use. A kitchen will be at your disposal for meal preparations. In tandem with the animation team, you will partake in grocery shopping and meal preparation.
Embracing an eco-conscious approach, you are encouraged to utilize local and in-season produce. Laundry facilities will be intermittently accessible (it is advisable to plan for a 3-week laundry cycle).
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES DURING THE ENDEAVOR
Construction and Horticulture: Acquire hands-on expertise in exterior construction and horticulture, inclusive of soil layout, timber edifice assembly, and the installation of components for the tactile path.
