The “We Got This” initiative is designed to arm participants with the essential training techniques to meet the mental and emotional requirements of the youth.
Acknowledging the myriad of transitions young individuals undergo, including physical, emotional, social, and cognitive developments, the role of youth workers, school psychologists, guidance counselors, and advisors is pivotal in providing support during these times.
With insights into adolescent development and mental health, educators and youth mentors can gain a deeper comprehension of young people’s needs, anticipate potential scenarios they may encounter, and identify effective support strategies.
Moreover, these professionals can present practical tools to assist the youth in navigating everyday hurdles and guide them towards appropriate support systems.
The well-being of the youth workers themselves is also crucial; they need their own set of routines and methods to maintain their mental health and overall well-being.
This educational program aims to empower youth workers with the competencies and knowledge necessary to foster the mental and emotional welfare of young individuals within their communities.
It underscores the significance of youth workers focusing on their mental health and fostering secure, nurturing environments before extending help to others.
The program is scheduled to run from May 27 to June 3.
All related expenses will be covered by the program.
The program will welcome a total of 24 participants.
The minimum age requirement for applicants is 18 years old.
