ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
The activities will be held at “Eko centar Latinovac,” situated in a small village in Croatia. We aim to host 15 participants dedicated to sustainable and rural development, community building, promoting volunteerism, and multiculturalism.
Throughout this period, our focus will be on renovating the old school and its surrounding land.
Tasks will include clearing overgrown areas, repairing old buildings, gardening, and assisting in the maintenance of our property.
Additionally, participants will support the local community by aiding in the kitchen and other necessary tasks. This experience offers participants a chance to immerse themselves in communal living, rural lifestyles, sustainable practices, vegetarian cuisine, and a lifestyle less impacted by global challenges.
The working schedule entails 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, with flexibility based on weather conditions.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD, AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Participants will be housed in the village with local hosts, sharing room, toilet, and shower facilities. Our chef will provide three vegetarian meals daily during working days.
On free days, participants will receive €6 per day for food expenses and access to a shared kitchen. Transport costs will be reimbursed upon arrival, depending on the distance, with arrangements discussed beforehand.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Daily supervision will be provided for all activities, including theoretical and demonstrational training for more complex tasks.
Participants will receive mentorship support through both group and individual meetings during project activities. Participants are encouraged to share their skill sets and knowledge.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
Ideal participants should be willing to embrace rural living in a multicultural community, demonstrating openness to diverse lifestyles and cultures.
They should possess adaptability, responsibility, punctuality, and a genuine interest in sustainability and ecology. Interaction with children and youngsters is expected, requiring a basic understanding of the English language.
