Project Activities:
“Eko centar Latinovac,” nestled in a quaint Croatian village, will be the setting for our project, hosting 15 participants dedicated to sustainable and rural development, community enrichment, and the celebration of volunteerism and cultural diversity.
The project’s focal points are twofold: orchestrating the Festival of Sustainable Living and revitalizing an old school along with its adjacent terrain.
This entails extensive preparation for festival events, reclaiming overgrown spaces, refurbishing dilapidated structures, and gardening, among other tasks.
Additionally, participants will contribute to the upkeep of our estate, assist in culinary duties, and lend a hand to the villagers.
This immersive experience offers a glimpse into communal living, rural customs, eco-friendly practices, and vegetarian dining, all while being minimally impacted by global issues. The work schedule consists of 6-hour days, spanning 5 days a week, subject to weather-related adjustments.
Living Conditions, Meals, and Travel:
Lodging will be provided in the village by local hosts, where participants will share living quarters, restrooms, and bathing facilities. Some will also stay within Eko centar Latinovac’s premises.
On workdays, our resident chef will craft three vegetarian meals daily for the team. On days off, participants will receive a food allowance of 7€ per day and have access to a communal kitchen.
Travel expenses will be compensated post-arrival, within set limits based on travel distance, to be discussed prior to arrival.
Skill Development:
Throughout the project, participants will receive consistent guidance, with specialized training for more intricate tasks, including theoretical instruction and hands-on management. Mentorship will be available during project tasks, with opportunities for both group and individual sessions. We encourage participants to bring and share their unique skills.
Ideal Participant Traits:
We’re looking for individuals eager to embrace life and labor in a rural, multicultural setting, who are open-minded towards various lifestyles and cultures.
Ideal participants are adaptable, reliable, timely, and have a keen interest in sustainability and ecological matters. They should be ready to engage with local youth and possess a fundamental grasp of the English language.
