PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Embark on a transformative team volunteering project aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and preserving cultural heritage in the rural communities of Bulgaria. This hands-on initiative integrates training and sustainable practices, contributing significantly to the well-being of Bulgarian rural areas.
Project Objectives:
Holistic Approach: The project emphasizes the interconnectedness of a healthy lifestyle, the environment, and the preservation of cultural heritage and traditions.
Hands-on Learning: Young volunteers will engage in a learning space that explores sustainable healthy lifestyles under the guidance of experienced facilitators.
Impactful Contributions: Volunteers have the opportunity to create their own impact by actively participating in activities that strengthen the relationship between the local environment and cultural traditions.
Project Activities:
Healthy Lifestyle Exploration: Delve into the meaning of a healthy lifestyle and explore the relationships between health, environment, and sustainable development.
Rural Retreat: Volunteers will be hosted in a picturesque house in the heart of the Rila mountain, providing a serene setting for learning and activities.
Culinary Experience: Engage in the production and consumption of utterly healthy food, either grown by volunteers or sourced from local communities.
Hands-on Projects: Participate in eco-building renovation, garden creation, and ecological food production, fostering sustainable practices.
Who We’re Looking For:
Age: 18-30 years old.
Enthusiastic individuals passionate about hands-on activities.
Initiators who are eager to create opportunities for themselves and others.
Skills in building, gardening, or painting are advantageous.
Dates:
- May 1 – June 1, 2024.
Location:
- Synergy Volunteering & Retreat Center, Djurovo Region, Bulgaria.
Eligibility:
- Open to all ESC Programme Countries.
Provided:
- Food, accommodation, transport, pocket money.
Experience:
- Live in a beautiful house with ample outdoor space, hammocks, a fireplace, and a river nearby.
