Description
This international programme is designed to unite 20 young participants with the aim of enhancing their involvement in civic decision-making, building advocacy competencies, and nurturing intercultural exchange.
By embracing non-formal education approaches, the course will create an interactive, collaborative learning environment that encourages meaningful cross-border partnerships.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the overall quality and impact of local youth councils (LYCs) and similar participatory platforms across Europe.
It focuses on equipping their members with the tools and confidence to influence youth-related policies and represent young people more effectively in their communities.
Local youth councils are increasingly acknowledged for their vital role in fostering democratic engagement, defending youth rights, and bridging the gap between generations.
During this intensive week-long programme, 20 young advocates involved in local youth participation will explore a combination of conceptual and practical modules.
The sessions will promote shared learning, co-design of initiatives, and mutual support among participants.
Highlights of the Training:
🔹 Position local youth councils as accessible and impactful spaces for active youth engagement;
🔹 Build the knowledge base and strategic skills of youth representatives in policy advocacy;
🔹 Explore hands-on tools including the Quality Charter for Inclusive and Participatory Local Youth Councils, the accompanying User Guide, and the Toolkit created by the DYPALL Network;
🔹 Create opportunities for networking and collaboration among LYCs throughout the Council of Europe region;
🔹 Strengthen intercultural dialogue and promote a sense of shared belonging within Europe.
All expenses related to participation in this training will be covered.
