Shaping Future Cooperation in European Youth Programs
For nearly 25 years, the Erasmus+ program, the European Solidarity Corps, and previous generations of European youth programs have facilitated collaboration among organizations, youth workers, and young people from both Program countries and neighboring partner countries.
These initiatives have provided valuable opportunities for intercultural learning, critical thinking, and democratic engagement.
Projects involving partners from neighboring regions—countries not directly associated with the programs—have been particularly impactful.
They promote awareness, respect for diversity, and a stronger interest in democratic citizenship. Additionally, they contribute to the development of youth work, programs, and policies in neighboring partner countries.
Given the current challenges in Europe, it is essential to continue and strengthen these cooperative efforts.
The Cross-Border partnership, established in 2021, has already made progress in fostering collaboration between Program countries and neighboring partners. Now, it’s time to build on this success strategically.
To achieve this, the German National Agency, in collaboration with National Agencies, Strategic Cooperation partners, and Cross-Border SALTOs, will host a Stakeholder Conference in Bonn, Germany, from September 16 to 20, 2024.
The conference aims to:
Emphasize the value of cooperation between neighboring partner countries and Program countries.
Increase visibility and synergy among stakeholders.
Explore current geopolitical and social contexts and future collaboration prospects.
Develop proposals for future youth cooperation, with a focus on Erasmus+ and ESC programs.
