Project Overview
ACARBIO, a charitable entity dedicated to safeguarding the Amalfi Coast’s natural and cultural treasures, invites participation in ‘Make it Blue 2024.’
This initiative, set in the picturesque town of Maiori, aims to engage volunteers in a series of community and marine conservation efforts.
Participants will contribute to the local museum’s preservation, revitalize a neglected communal space, participate in beach clean-up operations, and organize children’s events. The project commences on June 14 and concludes on July 30.
Living Arrangements
Volunteers will reside in a centrally-located Maiori facility, courtesy of a local religious order.
The accommodation includes a kitchen, two restrooms, and a shower. Sleeping quarters are shared, with five beds per room, segregated by gender.
Volunteers are expected to adhere to established house rules, partake in communal cooking, and maintain a respectful atmosphere.
Provisions will be supplied, travel expenses reimbursed per ESC guidelines, and a daily allowance of 6€ provided. All essential locations within Maiori are easily accessible on foot.
Skill Development
The experience is designed to foster community living, where volunteers share responsibilities and form a cohesive unit.
Participants will gain insights into the region’s heritage and learn to champion eco-friendly initiatives. Additionally, there’s an opportunity to learn Italian.
Ideal Candidates
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals aged 18-30, keen on community service, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and social engagement.
No prior experience is necessary; diverse talents are welcome, from artistic expression to digital media expertise, or simply a zest for new experiences.
