Activity Overview
Fingo, a consortium of 260 Finnish NGOs, is a vanguard in development cooperation, sustainable development, and global citizenship education.
Annually, Fingo spearheads the World Village Festival, Finland’s premier family-friendly event championing global action.
This cost-free cultural extravaganza, culinary fiesta, and sustainable development expo elevates awareness of worldwide issues and empowers attendees with actionable insights for positive change.
Anticipated to attract around 50,000 visitors over the weekend of May 25-26, 2024, the festival’s volunteers are instrumental in various roles, from setup to maintenance and post-event breakdown.
Volunteers will find accommodation in communal cottages, with the host providing weekday lunches.
Dinners and other meals will be self-catered by the volunteers in small groups, with all provisions being plant-based.
This initiative, backed by the European Solidarity Corps, welcomes individuals aged 18-30 from EU nations and Ukraine, with no prior experience required—just a passion for the cause and the tasks at hand.
Volunteers should be amenable to modest accommodations and the shared responsibilities of community living, including decision-making, upkeep, and meal preparation.
Activity period: 18/05/2024 to 01/06/2024
