ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Fattoria l’Arca, situated in the South of Italy, is a certified organic farm providing a sanctuary for those seeking a connection with nature and locally cultivated organic produce.
Currently, the farm is in search of volunteers to actively participate in various farming tasks and engage with visitors.
Volunteer responsibilities encompass working in the fields and greenhouses, maintaining animal areas, planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables, soil cultivation, and assisting the cook.
Emphasis should be placed on the physically demanding nature of the work. Additionally, creative pursuits like pottery and basket workshops, tortelli and pizza making, as well as outdoor activities such as rafting, orienteering, and exploring the world of bees are part of the experience.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD, AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Pocket money: 17€ per day (travel expenses, visa, and insurance costs are NOT covered) Accommodation: Triple room with an internal bathroom
Meals: Breakfast (Italian basic) + Lunch + Dinner (prepared by Fattoria L’Arca’s chef with a basic menu using farm ingredients) Vacation: 4 days spread across the two months.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
On-arrival training: Initial 7 days organized by the coordinating organization Associazione Joint. Final evaluation with Youthpass Certificate and Glore Certificate: 5 days.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
The preferred volunteer should:
- Be aged between 18 and 30
- Be a resident or citizen of an EU country (including Italy)
- Demonstrate motivation and a keen interest in learning
- Display adaptability and an open-minded attitude
- Exhibit teamwork skills
- Respect common rules
- Have an affection for nature and animals
- Be willing to undertake early morning shifts (starting at 6 AM).
